It is my pleasure to share a few thoughts with you.

Globalisation has opened the gateway to the international market and we should take its advantages to the fullest extent. From that point of view, the website of JMCCI will be an important tool for us to keep in touch with our members and also the industrial and trading community at large. I would like to communicate with you on vital issues through this medium.

JMCCI has been set up with certain aims and objectives, the main amongst them being to serve the business community, keeping in view the latest developments in the fields of technology and international trade. Today Indian forex reserves have crossed 110 billion dollars and this is certainly a positive sign for the Indian economy. Our exports are also doing better everyday. Latest technologies and improved exports are the two main tools which can help us in coping with the globalisation challenges. JMCCI has redirected its activities focusing mainly on these two important aspects.

Maharashtra, being a progressive state, has to be on the forefront to represent India on the global front. Earlier this year, we organised a two-day international business conference on the theme "Global Entrepreneurs' Meet" on 5th and 6th February, 2005, in Mumbai, primarily to project capabilities of the State at the global level and discuss and decide the action plan to secure a prominent position on the global map.

I appeal all of you to come together and be our partners in progress, by participating in the programmes organised by JMCCI.
